Modern day feminism and the #MeToo Movement are more harmful to our society than they are helpful, especially if you are a white male. One of the strongest purported beliefs of the Democratic Party is the ideal of equality on all fronts. They say that they believe in equal opportunity for all people, regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Despite this standpoint, Democrats frequently act in contradiction to their supposed beliefs, especially with the #MeToo movement. Rather than promoting “equality for all,”modern-day feminism is more like a threat to men and masculinity.

Democrats have repeatedly treated unsubstantiated allegations such as those against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who is now an Associate Justice for the Supreme Court, as un- questionably true. Kavanaugh denied all allegations of sexual misconduct that Christine

Blasey Ford made towards the Supreme Court nominee.
In the case of Kavanaugh, this appears to be the Democrats’ tactic to prevent a political

opponent from serving on the Supreme Court. It is rather convenient that Ford chose to speak up then about the alleged attack from 36 years ago.

For nearly two months, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D Calif., withheld a July dated letter from Ford about the alleged attack, and instead decided to issue the statement

days before the confirmation vote (a little too suspicious in my opinion). Feinstein later claimed that the delay in sharing the information was from Ford’s supposed confidentiality request.

Leland Keyser, a long-time friend of Ford, was called as a witness, but her story did not match that of other accusers. She told the Senate Judiciary Committee that she does not know Kavanaugh, nor does she remember being at a party with him. Ford also named three other individuals who

were allegedly in attendance at the event, but all three denied claims of both being there and that the alleged assault took place.

The Democrats have continuously pursued to damage individuals that have differing political ideologies, especially at the expense of his or her reputation. And in this case, Kavanaugh was brutally and horrifically attacked with no evidence.

Sen. Lindsey Graham pointed out a motivation for the attack saying, “What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open and hope you win in 2020.”

Graham is not wrong. The Democrats will not stop at any cost to support these unsubstantiated claims to further their political agenda. Kavanaugh is completely qualified, and now serves as the current Associate Justice for the Supreme Court. I have no doubt that Kavanaugh will be an amazing leader for our nation.

Democrats should learn from such a distinguished figure like Kavanaugh. A man with such evident show of character, compassion and support for Constitutional rights and liberties deserves to serve on the SCOTUS.

Sexual misconduct has nothing to do with either political ideology. There have been numerous people that identify with the Democratic Party who have been accused of sexual misconduct.

Allow me to name some of the most infamous cases: Harvey Weinstein, Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton… the list goes on.

Committing such a crime is wrong, and those who do so should be properly prosecuted, but falsely accusing another individual and using unsubstantiated claims to destroy someone’s life is also egregious.

As a female, I find it horrible to think that other females will destroy a male’s life for some sort of gain. What for? Is it for attention? Money? Career opportunities? I fear for my brother as he soon enters college, and hope he never faces an issue like that.

If a major value of the Democratic Party is to promote so-called “equality for all,” perhaps weaponizing the #MeToo movement as a political scheme is not the way to go.
