The New York Yankees will be back on top of the baseball world in 2020. For the first time in the team’s history, they went without winning a World Series for the past decade. This year, they will be back in the Fall Classic.

The Yankees had a seesaw-like 2019 season. Despite an unprecedented amount of injuries, they made it to the ALCS. Many people were worried that they were not going to make the wild card spot during the season.

Many players are going to be coming into the season full strength. Giancarlo Stanton will be playing regularly. After a season-long absence, Miquel Andujar is back from a Tommy John surgery, and his range of motion is back to normal.

New York’s offense is as dangerous as it gets. They hit 306 homeruns and had six players hit over 20 of them. Young star Gleyber Torres is coming off of a career year, and he seems to only be getting better.

Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge going back- to-back in the lineup equals runs. D.J. LeMahieu is a serious contender for the batting title in the A.L.

With the addition of Gerrit Cole, the Yankees filled the rotation’s need in the best way possible. He went 20-5 with an ERA of 2.50 and 326 strikeouts. These are Hall of Fame numbers for a pitcher that is only 29 years old.

The team’s bullpen is the deepest in the league. With Aroldis Chapman as the anchor, he is almost guaranteed to close out a game. 37 saves was one shy of his career high and the most since 2013.

The Yankees have “the best” in almost everything in the league. Their lineup, top to bottom, starting pitching rotation, bullpen and their third-year manager Aaron Boone are seen to be the future of Yankees baseball. It seems hard to find a weakness in their 2020 team.

The Savages from the Bronx will be riding the tour buses through NYC for the first time since 2009.
