I Say, You Say: If you could invent one thing, what would it be?

Every day there are new inventions being made to make life easier. Throughout time, people have invented tools, gadgets and appliances to help make things go quicker, smoother or easier in daily life. This is why our world is so exciting; there is always something new coming out to improve our lives somehow.
High Point University takes pride in its entrepreneurial mindset. Many HPU students have already created their own start-up businesses, and a select few were able to pitch their ideas in HPU’s Annual Business Plan Competition and actually win money to help start their idea in a competition similar to the reality TV show “Shark Tank.” It is great to see this creativity come to life through these students’ ideas and inventions.
But innovation comes in all different forms, and HPU is always striving to promote creativity in all realms. College students know that life can be crazy at times, and it would be nice to have certain inventions to make life a little simpler. Students were asked what they would invent to help improve their daily lives if anything were possible. Here are their responses:
“I would want to invent something that brings food to me right when I want it. I sometimes don’t have time to have a full meal, and instead I just grab quick snack on the way to meetings or classes, or I eat at weird times.” – Erik Daniels, senior.
“I would invent a clock setting that gives me more hours in the day. I run out of time to do things, and I feel like I’m always running around. If I had more time, then I could be more productive, take better care of myself, and do more things I want to do.” – Jennifer Brammer, sophomore.
“I would invent a good tasting caffeinated drink or food. I do not like coffee and it would be so great to get a caffeine boost in another form other than that.” – Bailey Grijalva, sophomore. Photo submitted
